Linden labourer stabbed to death during confrontation with man defecating in yard

A 23-year-old labourer from Scheme Hill, Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was stabbed to death during a confrontation with a suspect who was seen defecating in his yard. The deceased has been identified as Tafawa Alexander.

Based on reports received, at about 18:10h, the suspect was seen defecating in the deceased’s yard. In response, Alexander reportedly armed himself with a piece of wood and dealt the suspect several lashes about his body. In return, the injured suspect, who was reportedly armed with a knife, stabbed Alexander several times in his body.

He was rushed to the Linden Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was arrested and is currently receiving medical treatment. A knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found in the suspect’s pants pocket. An investigation is underway.
