Police in Regional Division #6 (East Berbice-Corentyne) have arrested a man following the discovery of a firearm which was found on Friday June 5, 2026, during an operation conducted at Sea Dam, Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice.
Acting on intelligence received, ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit went to the residence of a 29-year-old barber of Sea Dam, Crabwood Creek, where a search was conducted in his presence.
During the search, a salt bag was found under the counter of a barber shop situated in front of the residence. The bag was opened and found to contain a suspected .22 calibre rifle.
The suspect was arrested and escorted to the Springlands Police Station along with the suspected firearm which was lodged pending investigation.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
