A 30-year-old porter of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), has been charged with the offence of sexual activity with a child family member.
Clerence Alexander, of Onderneeming Sand Pit, appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
The charge alleges that between April 1 and April 30, 2026, at Lot 10 Onderneeming Sand Pit, Alexander engaged in sexual activity with a male juvenile, contrary to Section 16(3)(a) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03.
When the charge was read, Alexander was not required to enter a plea, and the prosecution objected to bail. Magistrate Mohabir granted $1 million bail.
As part of the bail conditions, Alexander is required to report to the Suddie Police Station every Friday. He was also ordered to remain at least 100 feet away from the alleged victim and to have no contact with the child pending the outcome of the matter.
The case was adjourned to August 3.
