WCPL fixtures confirmed as Jamaica Empress joins reimagined women’s cricket festival

The WCPL is entering an exciting new era, with the official fixtures for the 2026 tournament now live and a bold new vision set to redefine women’s cricket across the Caribbean with eight matches set to take place at the iconic Kensington Oval, Barbados.

The WCPL has been re-engineered from the ground up to create a platform that celebrates and amplifies the unique voice of Caribbean women – a voice that is distinct, powerful and deserving of its own spotlight.

At the heart of the new WCPL is a commitment to putting Caribbean women centre stage, inspiring the next generation of female athletes by showing them that there is a place waiting for them at the highest level of sport.

The tournament’s refreshed identity is built around three core values: empowerment, the will to win and close community. These themes are captured in the league’s new creative platform, “She’s In”, which will be promoted through a dedicated advertising campaign across female-focused social media channels throughout the region.

The 2026 WCPL will take place entirely in Barbados, with all matches being played over a ten-day festival of cricket during the first two weeks of September.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

Jamaica Empress

Trinbago Knight Riders

The newly created Jamaica Empress will represent Jamaica as part of the competition’s refreshed identity and growing commitment to celebrating female excellence throughout the Caribbean. The new logo for the Empress is below and can be downloaded from this link.

More than just a cricket tournament, every WCPL matchday will offer a vibrant community experience. Fans can enjoy dedicated children’s activity zones, cricket skills sessions, health and wellness checks, and opportunities to discover products and services from female entrepreneurs from across the region.

Each WCPL match will be designed as a celebration of sport, community and opportunity, creating an environment where women and girls can connect, participate and be inspired.

With the 2026 fixtures now available, fans can begin planning for what promises to be the biggest and most impactful edition of the tournament yet. Looking ahead to 2027, the WCPL is preparing to take the next step in its evolution, with plans to welcome teams from outside the Caribbean and establish the tournament as a truly global competition.
