A porter reportedly lost his life on Thursday evening after the motor canter he was driving crashed into a bridge along the Long Creek Public Road, Linden/Soesdyke Highway. The deceased man has been identified as Isaiah Malachi Williams, reportedly attached to the G Mining Company.

Based on reports received, the young man was on his way home when the canter in which he was traveling crashed into the concrete bridge. As a result of the collision, both he and the driver sustained injuries. They were pulled from the wreckage and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where Williams was pronounced dead.
The driver was admitted in critical condition. An investigation is underway.
