Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of Devanand Balram, called “Whiteboy,” 14, of No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, whose body was found on Wednesday July 15, 2026, about 07:00hrs, in the vicinity of the Dukestown Foreshore, Corriverton, Berbice.
Preliminary investigations revealed that, after two days of searches following his suspected drowning at the Springlands Foreshore on Sunday July 13, 2026, family members resumed searching about 06:00hrs and subsequently discovered the body.
The body was found lying face down in a crouched position between several rocks, clad in a boxer shorts. It was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The body was examined and no detectable marks of violence were observed.
Investigations are ongoing.
