Gun, ammo found in Georgetown

𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 .38 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝑭𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑮𝒆𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒏

Police in Georgetown (Regional Division #4A) are investigating the discovery of a suspected .38 revolver and five matching rounds of ammunition on Friday September 11, 2026, at about 13:30h, in the vicinity of Durban and John Streets, Georgetown.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Police rank on duty in the area observed a bucket fall from a motor vehicle travelling along Durban Street. The bucket was subsequently struck by passing vehicles, after which an object suspected to be a firearm was observed on the roadway.

Upon examination, the object was identified as a suspected .38 revolver along with five matching rounds of ammunition.

The suspected firearm and ammunition were taken to the Alberttown Police Station, where they were lodged.

Investigations are ongoing.
