Guyana Horse Racing awards set for next month – Dataman set to sweep awards

A historic day is on the cards for Guyana’s horse racing on Sunday, July 5, at the Port Mourant Turf Club. For the first time ever in the Republic of Guyana, the 2026 Guyana Horse Racing Awards will take place at the track in a monumental day of exciting live racing.

It will be a great spectacle as a packed Port Mourant turf club will witness the crowning achievements of the 2025 season. Master Z Gem of a Horse, Dataman is expected to sweep the top awards after his unbeaten run in Guyana. Dataman defied all odds, after winning the 2025 Guyana Cup, to secure the President’s Cup and Banks Classic race wins.

Dataman remained special as he dominated in different racing conditions at different phases of the day and even conquered the former champion on various occasions. The 2026 Guyana Horse Racing Awards honouring our equine athletes as well as our divisional champions of 2025.
