‘Super We’ initiative to be rolled out as ExxonMobil GSL preparation ramps up
The Guyana National Stadium at Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD) will once again be ground zero, where five T20 giants will battle in pursuit of one trophy. The 3rd edition of the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) T20 is scheduled for July 23 to August 1, 2026 where defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) will look to defend their title and home turf.
With the tournament drawing near and preparation amplifying, ExxonMobil GSL Director Jamie Stewart shared a new initiative that drives marketing for this year’s tournament. Stewart divulged in a press briefing on Thursday, “Cricket, as we all know, is in the blood of every Guyanese person; it’s part of the culture, part of the heritage. We really wanted to use GSL to celebrate that. GSL is a home-grown event; it’s created out of Guyana, for Guyana, projecting a progressive Guyana to the world.”

He continued, “We really wanted to celebrate the people of Guyana and their passion for cricket. So, we’re launching a new campaign over the weekend, which is titled ‘Super League, Super We, ‘ celebrating the resilience and love of cricket of all the people of Guyana.” Quizzed on when the other teams in the GSL will reveal their rosters, Stewart hinted at some surprises, especially for the local franchise.
“So, the other squads will be announced shortly. I think the Warriors are close to having finalized their squad. I don’t want to spill the beans for them; I’ll let them announce their squad, but they seem to have a very strong squad, with a couple of surprises there too,” Stewart revealed.
“The Vipers, at the moment, are the only team that has announced their squad. Some of you may have seen, which I think will delight a lot of the Guyanese fans – Chris Green has been named captain, so he’ll be back in Guyana, unfortunately on the other side. But you know, he has a strong relationship with Guyana and the fans here, so I’m sure they’re looking forward to seeing him again.”
In addition, it was announced that the ongoing ExxonMobil GSL and Republic Bank CPL bundle ticket deal will soon be extended to online buyers. Stewart disclosed, “What I can say, sort of breaking news, is that on Monday we’re aware that it’s a long drive from places like Berbice and Linden and whatnot; we will make that same offer available online. So, that will be available from Monday.”
The bundle deal sees patrons who purchase ExxonMobil GSL tickets being able to buy the same number of CPL tickets in the same stand.
