60-year-old Cletus Rodulph, a motorcyclist from St. Ignatius Village, Central Rupununi, Region Nine, was on Monday slapped with a driving under the influence of alcohol charge, among other allegations of failing to maintain the brake on a motor vehicle.
He appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to both charges, which stemmed from offenses committed on Friday, May 29, 2026, along Third Street, Lethem.
Following his guilty plea, he was fined $75,000 or, in default, seven weeks’ imprisonment for driving under the influence of alcohol, and $10,000 or, in default, one week’s imprisonment for failing to maintain the brake on a motor vehicle.
