Woman charged for killing husband at Rock Creek Backdam

Doroteia Castilho Maia, a 49-year-old Brazilian gold miner of Manaus, Brazil, and Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River, was charged with the offence of Murder, contrary to common law.

The charge relates to the murder of Antonio Pereira Figueredo, a 53-year-old Brazilian gold miner of Manaus, Brazil, and Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River, which occurred on Saturday July 18, 2026, at Rock Creek Backdam, Puruni River.

Maia appeared on Wednesday July 22, 2026, before His Worship Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to her.

She was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to August 31, 2026, for continuation.
