Police in Regional Division #4A (Georgetown) have arrested a 47-year-old vendor of Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown, following the discovery of 30 grammes of suspected cannabis.
The narcotic was found at about 15:45h on Friday, July 17, 2026, during an operation conducted at Castello Housing Scheme.
According to the police, ranks, acting on information received, conducted an intelligence-led operation at a property in the area, where they observed the suspect throwing a bulky black plastic bag over a fence.
The bag was retrieved and searched in the presence of the suspect, during which a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found.
The suspect and the cannabis were escorted to the East La Penitence Police Station, where the narcotic was weighed before being lodged.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
