The Trinbago Knight Riders on Thursday announced their overseas player roster ahead of the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season, bringing together proven international firepower across the top order, spin, and pace bowling as the defending champions look to retain their title.
The five overseas signings confirmed for the upcoming campaign are:

- Colin Munro
- Matthew Breetzke
- Amshi de Silva
The Knight Riders’ recruitment for 2026 blends proven franchise-cricket pedigree with emerging international talent, adding depth and firepower across every phase of the innings.
Alex Hales brings a wealth of white-ball experience to the top of the order, having lifted the T20 World Cup with England in 2022. Renowned for his explosive strokeplay across the T20 Blast, Big Bash League and international cricket, the English opener, who was the fifth highest run-getter of CPL last year, returns to the Knight Riders as a proven match-winner at the crease.
Usman Tariq returns to the Knight Riders’ attack as a rising force in international cricket, after finishing with most wickets for TKR in their title-winning season last year. The off-spinner, who made his T20I debut against South Africa in November 2025, offers great control and variation through the middle overs.
Colin Munro adds further power to the top order, with the New Zealander set to play his ninth season for TKR in 2026. The Left-hander leads the charts for most runs by an overseas player in CPL history, and has built a reputation over more than a decade as one of the most destructive openers in franchise cricket worldwide.
Matthew Breetzke joins as one of the most exciting young batting talents in world cricket, having announced himself with a record-breaking 150 on ODI debut against New Zealand. The South African represented Lucknow Super Giants in the 2025 IPL season and adds further steel to the middle order.
Amshi de Silva rounds out the overseas quintet, the batting all-rounder having come through the Sri Lanka’s age-group pathways, including the U19 World Cup, before representing Sri Lanka A. He gives the Knight Riders’ management further balance and depth in the middle order.
Combined with a core of West Indian talent led by captain Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein, and with Dwayne Bravo returning for his second season as head coach, this overseas group gives the defending champions a well-rounded squad across batting, spin and pace ahead of the 2026 campaign.
