Forty-year-old Phillip Rose, the General Manager of Little Rock Television Station (LRTVS), appeared before the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with assaulting a staff member. Rose, of Adelphi Village, East Canje, Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Michelle Matthias, where the charge was read to him.

It is alleged that on January 8, 2026, he assaulted Marisa Brutus at the television station’s premises.Rose, who was not represented by an attorney, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution raised no objection to bail, and Magistrate Matthias granted him bail in the sum of $20,000.

The matter was adjourned to June 8, 2026, for further proceedings.

Information reaching this publication indicates that the allegation stems from a dispute involving a wages book at the television station. Brutus serves as the station’s Marketing Manager. Rose assumed the position of General Manager in late September 2025. A video recording of the incident subsequently surfaced and was widely circulated on social media.
