A 41-year-old spray painter from Lethem, Central Rupununi, Region Nine (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo) was taken into police custody on Tuesday following the discovery of a quantity of ganja and cocaine at his home.
Based on reports received, police, acting on information, conducted a search of the suspect ‘s home, during which one black plastic bag containing a transparent and blue plastic packet of cannabis was found.
Further searches revealed three black plastic-wrapped parcels containing a whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine. As such, the suspect was arrested and taken to the Lethem Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed and amounted to 33 grams, while the cocaine amounted to 52 grams. The suspect remains in custody pending further investigations and charges.
