Guyana Water Inc. on Thursday officially launched its latest Bottle Refilling Station in Amelia’s Ward, Region 10 with the aim of providing accessible and affordable drinking to residents.
To mark the launch, residents benefited from free water refills. Beginning on Friday, five-gallon refills will be available for just $100.
During the ceremony, Linden Town Clerk, Lennox Gasper, welcomed the initiative, commending GWI for making purified water available to residents at a nominal cost.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GWI, Shaik Baksh, highlighted the company’s expanding network of bottle refilling stations across the country. He said the establishment of another facility on the opposite side of the Demerara River in Linden is also being considered.
Baksh also outlined ongoing investments in Region 10’s water supply, including upgrades to treatment plants, rehabilitation works, and plans for an additional well in Section Four, Amelia’s Ward.
The new facility forms part of GWI’s continued efforts to improve access to safe, reliable, and affordable drinking water for communities across Guyana.
