Guyana Amazon Warriors, Global Super League donate G$25M for MV Barima relief

The Guyana Amazon Warriors, in association with the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL), today announced a donation of G$25 million for the H.E.A.R.T. (Hope, Empathy, Aid, Resilience and Trust) Initiative, providing educational and humanitarian support for survivors and families affected by the MV Barima tragedy.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, President Dr. Irfaan Ali announced the H.E.A.R.T. Initiative to mobilise national support for those impacted, focusing on education, humanitarian assistance and long-term recovery for survivors and affected families.

Chairman of the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League Sir Clive Lloyd, in the presence of Guyana Amazon Warriors captain Imran Tahir, and Guyana Amazon Warriors Women players Latoya Williams and Tilleya Madramootoo, made the presentation to representatives of the H.E.A.R.T Initiative- Shaikh Moeenul Hack, Rev. Dr. Kwame Gilbert, Lt. Col. Dominic Shepherd, Misha Goodchild and Pandit Roopnarine Persaud- just before the toss in Saturday’s final between Guyana Amazon Warriors and San Francisco Unicorns at Providence.
