ExxonMobil Guyana to conduct offshore pipeline maintenance activities at Crane commencing on Oct 14
ExxonMobil Guyana on Wednesday announced plans to carry out maintenance activities on an offshore pipeline near Crane, West Coast Demerara, from October 14 to December 1, 2026.
In a statement issued to the media, the company said the maintenance work will address an issue identified in a near-shore section of the pipeline during inspection activities earlier this year.
Furthermore, it said the work forms part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining the safety, integrity, and reliability of its infrastructure and will be carried out in accordance with international standards to support the pipeline’s long-term integrity.
According to the company, the pipeline is currently pressurized with inert nitrogen gas and is not yet operational. As a result, it does not pose a risk to the public or the environment.
The maintenance is expected to be completed before the commencement of Gas-to-Energy operations, which ExxonMobil said will help minimize the potential for future maintenance-related interruptions.
ExxonMobil Guyana added that it is coordinating with relevant stakeholders throughout the maintenance period and remains committed to conducting its operations safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
