Twenty-two-year-old Vivon Tobin, a labourer of Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, was slapped with two counts of assault committed on a peace officer.
The charges relate to an incident which occurred on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Charity Public Road, Essequibo Coast, involving two police ranks attached to the Charity Police Station.
Tobin, however, appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where the charges were read to him.
He reportedly pleaded not guilty and was granted $50,000 bail. The accused will make his next court appearance on February 8, 2027.
