Firearm stolen from security guard outside North Road bar

A 40-year-old security officer on duty outside a bar on North Road, Georgetown, had his firearm stolen during a robbery on Friday night (September 25, 2026).

The incident occurred at about 20:30h.

Preliminary investigations revealed that while the security officer was on duty at the bar, he was approached by a male known to him. The suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at him and demanded that he hand over his firearm.

The security officer complied and handed over a 9mm pistol along with 10 matching rounds of ammunition. The suspect subsequently left the location on foot, proceeding south along Wellington Street.

No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
