A 19-year-old male of Campbellville, Georgetown, was on Monday evening shot during an armed robbery by two males on an XR motorcycle along Owen Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
Based on reports received, the teenager was in the company of several persons liming at about 20:00h when they were approached by two unidentified males on an XR motorcycle. The pillion rider, who was armed with a handgun, reportedly dismounted the motorcycle and instructed the victim and others not to move.
The teen reportedly started to run, but the armed suspect discharged several rounds in his direction, resulting in one of the bullets hitting him in his left foot. The teenager fell onto the roadway, after which he was relieved of two yellow metal chains. The suspect then returned to the waiting motorcycle, after which the two men rode away and made good their escape.
The injured teen was taken to a private medical facility, where he was admitted in a stable condition. Police have since retrieved CCTV footage as investigations continue. No arrests were made.
