Guyana Is Ready for You: AOAG Launches International Recruitment Appeal for Aviation Professionals

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — October 4, 2026: The Aviation Operators’ Association of Guyana (AOAG) is inviting experienced aviation professionals from around the world to consider Guyana as their next professional home as the country’s aviation industry expands alongside unprecedented economic growth.

Guyana is rapidly emerging as one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic economies, driven by major investment in energy, infrastructure, tourism, mining and private-sector development.

This transformation is creating growing demand for aviation services, aircraft, routes and—most importantly—skilled aviation professionals.
The AOAG is particularly seeking pilots, aircraft engineers, maintenance and avionics specialists, flight dispatchers, aviation managers, instructors and other technical professionals.

There is strong demand for experience on aircraft including the Cessna 206, Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, Britten-Norman Islander, Britten-Norman Trislander, Beechcraft 1900D and HAL 228, as well as specialists familiar with Pratt & Whitney PT6 and Honeywell TPE331 engines.

A Unique Professional Opportunity

Guyana offers aviation professionals the opportunity to work in a challenging operating environment while helping to build an emerging aviation ecosystem.

Operations across remote communities, tropical weather, challenging terrain and both paved and unpaved aerodromes develop strong practical skills in aircraft performance, decision-making, route planning, fuel management and operational risk.

The country also offers an English-speaking aviation environment, a disciplined professional culture and competitive remuneration packages, with individual opportunities potentially including relocation assistance, rotations, professional development, type-specific training and career advancement.

Beyond employment, Guyana offers professionals and their families an opportunity to become part of a rapidly changing country, with growing healthcare and education services, a vibrant Georgetown lifestyle, and access to both the Caribbean and South America.

Build More Than a Career—Build the Future

AOAG President Capt. Learie C. Barclay said the invitation is about more than filling vacancies.

“The World is a global village where varied expertise and experience can only add benefit to our local melting pot. Guyana is ready for you to partner with us to build the Caribbean’s Centre of Aviation Excellence, as charged to do so by His Excellency President Mohammed Irfaan Ali”

International professionals joining Guyana will have the opportunity to transfer knowledge, mentor young Guyanese professionals, introduce international best practices and help strengthen the country’s aviation safety, maintenance and operational systems.

The AOAG’s message is simple: Come to Guyana. Come where aviation is growth is explosive. Come where your experience will be valued and further developed. Come where your skills will make a difference. Come and help build the Caribbean’s next aviation powerhouse.

Guyana is ready for you.
