Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the armed robbery committed on a 35-year-old businessman of Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara.
The incident occurred at about 20:20h at Nandy Park, EBD, on Friday (September 25, 2026).
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was walking along a street in Nandy Park with a friend when they were approached by two males on a black motorcycle.
The pillion rider reportedly dismounted from the motorcycle, pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the victim and relieved him of a dark blue iPhone 14 Plus and GY$10,000 in cash.
The suspect subsequently rejoined the motorcycle, after which the two males made good their escape.
Police ranks conducted checks in the area, which led to the arrest of a 24-year-old labourer and a 22-year-old labourer, both of Industrial Site, Ruimveldt. They were escorted to the Providence Police Station, where they remain in custody pending further investigations.
Several persons were questioned and CCTV footage from the area was reviewed.
Investigations are ongoing.
