Playground enhancement programme continues with $255M for Amerindian villages
The PPP/C Government is continuing its nationwide community playground enhancement programme with $255 million allocated this year to upgrade recreational facilities in Amerindian villages across Guyana.
This is a continuous programme where each Amerindian community receives a grant to enhance its playground, continuing the government’s investment in creating safer, more modern recreational spaces for children and young people.
Vice President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo made the announcement on Wednesday during an interactive session with Amerindian leaders at the National Toshaos Conference at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC).
The latest allocation builds on the PPP/C administration’s ongoing efforts to improve community infrastructure and promote youth development by ensuring children across Guyana, including those in hinterland communities, have access to quality recreational facilities.
