Charged, Johnathan De Souza

Thirty-eight-year-old Johnathan De Souza, also called “Johnny,” of Lovers Lane, South Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was charged on Thursday with the murder of Wayne Tevin Wilson, which occurred over the weekend.

De Souza, who was arrested on Sunday, appeared before Magistrate Rushell Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, where the indictable charge was read to him.
He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison until July 10, 2026. Wilson was reportedly stabbed to death during a confrontation with the suspect, who was seen defecating in his yard.

It was reported that on the day in question, at about 18:10h, the suspect was seen defecating in the deceased’s yard. However, Wilson reportedly armed himself with a piece of wood and dealt the suspect several lashes about his body. In return, the injured suspect, who was reportedly armed with a knife, stabbed Wilson several times.

He was rushed to the Linden Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was later arrested and charged. A knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was found in the suspect’s pants pocket.
