A 32-year-old businessman from Campbellville, Georgetown, is now nursing a gunshot injury following a shooting incident on Tuesday at Dowding Street, Kitty, Georgetown. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and another man were in a motor car when they were reportedly approached by two males on a dark-coloured motorcycle.
The victim alleged that one of the males, who was armed with a handgun, discharged a round in the direction of the motor car, which struck him in the abdomen. The injured businessman was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was treated and admitted as a patient. His condition is listed as stable.
The area is being canvassed for CCTV footage, and several persons have been questioned. Police stated that the suspects have not yet been arrested.
