A 29-year-old woman from Lima, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) has been charged with the offence of using a computer system to humiliate a person.
The charge was laid under the Cybercrime Act.
It is alleged that Patrina Butters conducted the act on Melissa Griffith on Sunday, February 22.
Butters appeared before Magistrate Tariq Mohamed at the Anna Regina Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.
The case adjourned for May 13, 2026.
