UK companies explore investment opportunities in Guyana’s housing sector
The Ministry of Housing–Central Housing & Planning Authority (CH&PA) yesterday hosted the 5th United Kingdom–Guyana Trade Mission at its Georgetown Headquarters, where the visiting delegates engaged Ministry officials on advancing cooperation in housing and infrastructure development.
The meeting included subject Minister Collin Croal, Minister within the Ministry, Vanessa Benn, along with Permanent Secretary Mr. Bishram Kuppen and Chief Executive Officer of CH&PA, Dr. Martin Pertab.
The UK delegation included Managing Director of the Caribbean Council, Mr. Chris Bennett; Senior Executive of NSG Exports Ltd, Mr. Reuben Carillo; and Business Development Manager at REIDsteel, Ms. Edith Gill.
NSG Exports Ltd. is an internationally recognised company with more than five decades of work in procurement and large-scale infrastructure delivery across the region. Moreover, REIDsteel is an internationally structural engineering firm, which has executed projects in over 140 countries in steel design and construction.
During the engagement, the parties explored shared areas of interest, including opportunities for collaboration in modern housing innovations, the integration of resilient infrastructure and the enhancement of Guyana’s expanding urban development agenda.
The discussion also highlighted the Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public–private partnerships and attract investment aligned with national development priorities.
The trade mission is organised by the British High Commission in partnership with the Caribbean Council, the British Chamber of Commerce (BritCham), and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI). The delegation comprises UK companies seeking to expand their footprint in Guyana and represents a wide cross-section of industries.
The visiting delegation also met with Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill to explore investment opportunities in his sector.
