The University of Guyana is all set to host its Annual Open Day and Job Fair on April 17–18, 2026, at the Turkeyen Campus, and on April 24, 2026, at the Tain Campus (Berbice). The University is also collaborating with the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) to host the Essequibo leg of the Open Day and Job Fair on May 8, 2026.
This year’s Open Day and Job Fair will be held under the theme “Innovation. Opportunity. Impact.” and, as in previous years, will feature two main components—an Open Day, which will provide prospective students with an opportunity to explore the University’s 180 programmes and learn about various career paths; and a Job Fair, which will offer information on job and internship opportunities from local and international organisations for students and other interested persons.
The 2026 Open Day and Job Fair will be held in person, with selected segments being live-streamed on the University of Guyana’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/uniofguyana) and UG Broadcasting (https://broadcasting.uog.edu.gy). The Open Day and Job Fair will commence with an Opening Ceremony on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 09:45 hrs and will be live-streamed via the University’s Facebook page. Those expected to deliver remarks include the Deputy Chief Education Officer for Amerindian and Hinterland Education Development (DCEO-AHED), Mr Marti De Souza; UG’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Paloma Mohamed Martin; Registrar, Dr Nigel Gravesande; and other partners from the private sector.
Several top private and public sector organisations have confirmed their participation, including ExxonMobil, AGM Inc., Republic Bank Guyana Limited (RBL), Beharry Group of Companies, Guyana Water Inc., SBM Offshore, El Dorado Offshore, G Mining Ventures, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), and the Gafoors Group of Companies, among several others.
