Fifteen-year-old Aleena Preetam of Good Hope, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) passed away on Monday, leaving her family devastated and a one-month-old baby without a mother.
According to information reaching this publication, relatives became concerned after hearing the infant crying continuously at the family’s home. Upon checking the bedroom, they discovered the teenager lying motionless on her bed. She was reportedly unresponsive.
Preetam, a former student of Abram Zuil Secondary School transferred to another secondary institution but eventually dropped out.
After leaving school, she became pregnant and subsequently gave birth. Her delivery process was safe, and both mother and baby had returned home. However, approximately one month after giving birth, the young mother met her demise.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. An investigation is underway.
