Teacher busted with ganja at Moruca

A 28-year-old teacher of Waramuri Village, Region One (Barima-Waini) was found with 15.4 grammes of marijuana at Moruca, North-West District, at around 17:30h on Saturday.

The Guyana Police Force said during an operation, ranks approached the suspect and conducted a search on his person, which resulted in the discovery of a transparent plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis in his pants pocket.

The suspected cannabis was seized and the suspect was escorted to the Acquero Police Station.

The suspected cannabis was weighed in the suspect’s presence before being lodged.

Investigations are ongoing.
