Suspected burnt remains of wanted man Jamal Bourne found – police

Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of wanted man Jamal Bourne, also called “Skinny,” following further operations conducted on Wednesday January 21, 2026 between 10:30hrs and 15:00hrs at Three Miles, Wisroc Housing Scheme, Wismar, Linden.

A team of Crime Scene ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department along with canine units conducted searches in the area in relation to a video circulating on social media.

During the operation, a burnt area was examined and suspected burnt human remains, including ashes and bones, were discovered and secured for forensic analysis.

Further searches at a nearby wooden structure resulted in the discovery of a suspected pistol with an empty magazine, three shotgun cartridges, a suspected spent 9mm shell, knives, clothing and other items. Three toy rifles were also found in nearby vegetation.

All exhibits were lodged and the suspected remains will be presented to a Government Pathologist.

The six arrested persons remain in custody assisting with the investigation.

The Guyana Police Force will provide further information as the investigation progresses.
