Officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) have arrested several persons following the discovery of two firearms with ammunition in Georgetown on Friday.
The weapons were found during an operation conducted in the vicinity of Robb Street, Georgetown.
CANU Officers, acting on intelligence received, went to the location, where they seized one (1) Taurus TX22 semi-automatic pistol with twenty-nine (29) .22 LR rounds and one (1) AR-15 (5.56 mm) rifle.
According to the law enforcement agency, several suspects were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the firearms and ammunition. Investigations are ongoing.
