Pres. Ali meets with South Rupununi Toshaos to discuss development opportunities

President Dr Irfaan Ali today met with Toshaos from the Deep South Rupununi at State House to discuss the district’s developmental agenda.
The Head of State underscored the district’s potential in forest and biodiversity conservation, among other areas, and highlighted the role it plays in both the local and national economy.
Discussions also centred on sustainable agricultural ventures such as large‑scale cattle production and crop cultivation, agro‑processing, mining, replanting initiatives, and tourism development opportunities.
President Ali and the Toshaos further addressed issues affecting residents and explored ways of resolving them.
Several Cabinet members were also at the meeting.
