Police find 118g of cannabis at Westminster, WBD

Police in Regional Division #3 (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis which was discovered on Saturday, June 20, 2026, between 17:00hrs and 17:15hrs during an operation conducted at Westminster Last Bridge, West Bank Demerara.

During the exercise, ranks conducted a search of a flat structure situated south of a wash bay, during which one brown cardboard box containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found.

The suspected cannabis was escorted to the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to 118 grams before being lodged.

No arrest was made. Investigations are ongoing.
