— 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟔𝟐 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 (𝟏𝟑𝟔.𝟔𝟖𝟕 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬) 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐚
At approximately 00:44 hrs this morning (December 31, 2024), acting on information received, Police ranks proceeded to Craig (Grand Scheme), East Bank Demerara, where they intercepted a white Toyota 212 motor car bearing registration number PRR 2536, carrying six bulky parcels of Marijuana which, when weighed, amounted to 62 kilograms (136.687 lbs).
Neil Patterson, 26, of Lot 113 Kwakwani Park, Berbice River, was driving the vehicle at the time.
During a search of the vehicle, Police found six (6) bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be narcotics, which were found in the baggage compartment and back seat of the car.
Neil Patterson, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was informed of the offence, arrested, and cautioned. He was then escorted to Regional Police 4’B’ Headquarters (Narcotics Department), along with the suspected narcotics.
The narcotics were weighed in Neil Patterson’s presence and found to weigh 62 kilograms (136.687 pounds).
