Two persons were arrested on Friday night for possession of cocaine during a Police ‘Cordon-and-Search’ operation in Regional Division 4A (Georgetown).
The exercise was conducted between 15:30hrs and 20:30hrs on the homes of several persons for narcotics, stolen property and wanted persons.
During the operation, ranks searched the following premises:
*** home of a 43-year-old businessman from Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown;
*** home of a 22-year-old cashier from Curtis Street, Albouystown, Georgetown;
*** home of a 36-year-old female from James and Cooper Street, Albouystown; and
*** home of a 33-year-old wash bay attendant from Cummings Park, Sophia, Georgetown.

Nothing illegal was found during the searches conducted at these premises.
As a result, the ranks then proceeded to Lot 67 Gordon Street, Kitty, where contact was made with Gavin Clarke, a 50-year-old Construction Worker and Seauta Norville, a housewife, both of the same address.
A search was conducted in their home, and a quantity of suspected cocaine was found. They were told of the offence committed, arrested and cautioned. Clarke admitted that the cocaine was his whilst Norville denied having any knowledge of it.
The cocaine was weighed, and it amounted to 33 grams. It was placed in an evidence bag, sealed and marked in their (suspects) presence and lodged at Kitty Police Station to be taken to the forensic laboratory for analysis. Both suspects were placed into custody. Investigations are in progress.
