Kathy Smith elected new President of GCCI; Gavin Ramsoondar elected Senior VP

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held its 135th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. During the meeting, remarks were delivered by outgoing President of the GCCI, Mr. Kester Hutson and Guest Speaker, the U.S Ambassador to Guyana, H.E. Nicole Theriot, while the Opening Session was closed with remarks from Senior Minister in the Office of the President, Hon. Dr. Ashni Singh.
Following the dissolution of the GCCI’s 2024/2025 Council, elections for the Chamber’s 21-member Council were held and the following members were elected as the new Council of the Chamber for the year 2025/2026.

Subsequent to the AGM, the new Council held its first Statutory Council meeting on Friday, March 21, 2025 to elect from its body a new Executive Management Committee (EMC) for the year 2025/2026. The EMC comprises a President, Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Immediate Past President. The elected Executives are as follows:
