Guyana, RSS discuss development of regional model legislation dealing with AI
Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall and Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond alongside a team from the Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs met with Director of the Asset Recovery Unit, Keisha Sutherland, at the Regional Security System and Director of Strategic Services and International Affairs at the Regional Security System, Rhea Reid, at the Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Legal Affairs.
The meeting discussed strengthening Guyana’s collaboration with the Regional Security System, the enactment of a series of legislation which the Regional Security System would like to be implemented across the Region and the development of a regional model legislation dealing with artificial intelligence.
The meeting also explored how the Regional Security System, as a regional law enforcement agency, can augment its presence and increase its capabilities across the Caribbean in the battle against organized crime and monitoring cyber space.
The Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network for the Caribbean (ARIN-CARIB) is currently in Guyana for its Annual General Meeting being held at the Georgetown Marriott.
