Forty-year-old Elizebath Chung, also called “Liza,” a chef from Albertown and Alexander Village, Georgetown, was fined $20,000 for allegedly importing dogs without the necessary permit.
Chung was reportedly arrested at the Bina Hill Police Checkpoint in Region Nine (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo) for importing 10 dogs without the necessary permit.

She was taken into custody and charged. She appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where she pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to her. Consequently, she was fined $20,000.
