Georgetown Lighthouse remains intact – MARAD

The Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) has become aware of misleading images of the Georgetown Lighthouse circulating on social media. These images do not reflect the true condition or reality of the structure.

The Public is hereby informed that the Georgetown Lighthouse remains intact and continues to stand as a historic landmark in the city of Georgetown.

MARAD strongly advises all individuals to cease and desist from the creation and dissemination of misleading or false imagery, as such actions serve no legitimate purpose and risk causing unnecessary public concern.
