A fire of so far unknown origin this morning completely destroyed a building located at Cummings Street, Georgetown.
The property is owned by overseas-based Guyanese bodybuilder, Hugh Ross and was occupied at the time by his relatives, Sandra Sandy and Iana De France, who escaped the burning building unharmed.
Reports are that one of the occupants was cooking in the kitchen when persons outside the premises raised an alarm. Upon investigating, flames were observed at the front of the house.
Meanwhile, the nearby building, Julian’s Restaurant, Bar and Guest House, was also damaged in the blaze.
