

A 25-year-old man was during the wee hours of today found dead in a canal at Evergreen, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Dead is Navindra Rambarran, a pump attendant who resided in the same community.
Reports are that the man had left home on his motorcycle at around 15:00hrs on Wednesday.
The victim’s wife told investigators that she made numerous calls to his phone throughout the night and when he answered, he would always assure that he was heading home.
Then at around 05:45hrs this morning, she received information that his body was found in the canal and his motorcycle was on a nearby dam, with both mirrors broken off.
The wife further told investigators that her husband frequently consumed alcohol.
A postmortem examination is scheduled to be conducted as investigations into the incident continue.
