Police in Regional Division #4‘A’ are investigating a fatal accident which occurred on Thursday, December 4, 2025 about 12:00hrs at the intersection of Aubrey Barker and Blue Mountain Roads, Georgetown.
The collision involved motor car PAJ 9875 driven by a 32-year-old Salesman of Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, Georgetown and pedestrian 50-year-old Shondell Dundas of Festival City, Georgetown (now deceased).
Initial investigations revealed that the motor car was proceeding east along the southern drive lane of the northern carriageway of Aubrey Barker Road (4 Lane Road), allegedly at a fast rate of speed when at the intersection with Blue Mountain Road, it collided with pedestrian Dundas, who was at the time on the pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the collision, Dundas sustained injuries to her head and about her body and was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor on duty. The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
The driver of PAJ 9875 was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which showed readings of 0.003 and 0.004 micrograms of alcohol in his breath. He was placed into custody and the vehicle lodged at the station pending examination.
CCTV cameras in the vicinity were observed and the footage is currently being reviewed as investigations continue.
