Following a video on social media on Sunday evening showing the driver of a motor car, PAL 3206, driving in a dangerous manner along the East Coast Demerara (ECD) Public Road, police have confirmed that a 30-year-old from Martyrs Ville, Mon Repos, ECD, was arrested.
As the video surfaced, police launched an investigation that revealed the motor car was proceeding from Beterverwagting Public Road towards Triumph Public Road when the driver allegedly drove in breach of the one-way system, causing several other motorists to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
However, on Monday, police arrested the driver, an Information Technology Technician at his residence.
He was taken to the Beterverwagting Police Station pending charges for Dangerous Driving and Breach of One Way, and is expected to appear before the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 09:00h.
