𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒅 12.4 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂; 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒚
Police in Regional Division #7 (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis that was found at about 03:50h today while on patrol duties in Bartica.
During the patrol, ranks observed a 27-year-old man of Second Avenue, Bartica, behaving in a disorderly manner. He was warned to desist but continued, resulting in his arrest and subsequent escort to the Bartica Police Station. There, the officers conducted a search of the black haversack the man was carrying, during which a white plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was unearthed.
The suspected cannabis was weighed in the suspect’s presence and amounted to 12.4 grams before being lodged.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
