Officers attached to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) today conducted a contraband operation during which a quantity of uncustomed alcohol was discovered at a property in Winsor Estates, Providence, on the East Bank of Demerara.
According to CANU reports, no narcotics were found during the search.
Nevertheless, three persons were arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters for further questioning.
One of the suspects arrested told investigators that he rents the property from local businessman Ernesto Choo.
However, CANU made it clear that Choo was not the subject of this operation, nor is he the subject of any ongoing investigations.
