A 29-year-old Wismar, Linden resident was taken into custody after a quantity of ganja was found at him home during a police operation at Blueberry Hill Back Road, Wismar, Linden, on Thursday evening.
Police stated that the arrest was made during an intelligence-led operation in which detectives went to a premises in the area where the suspect, a gold miner, was contacted.
A subsequent search of the premises unearthed a black plastic bag concealed under a bed in a bedroom, with 58 small transparent plastic bags containing ganja found. In addition, the sum of $5,500 in cash was also discovered in the black plastic bag.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Wismar Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed and amounted to 79.51 grams. He remains in custody pending further investigations.
