Police in Regional Division # 4 ‘A’ are investigating the discovery of a firearm and matching ammunition which was found on Friday, May 8, 2026, sometime around 19:15h at Bourda, Georgetown.
Based on police reports, a rank who was performing duties at the Bourda Market Police Outpost was standing in front of the outpost when he observed an identifiable male on a motorcycle, registration number unknown.

The rider reportedly proceeded further north along Orange Walk, breaching the one-way, and the rank attempted to stop him. In an effort to evade the rank, the motorcyclist allegedly collided with a motor car and a nearby barrier, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle, during which a suspected firearm fell onto the roadway from his person.
The rider then regained balance and made good his escape further north along Orange Walk. The suspected firearm was picked up from the roadway and was observed to be a black and silver 9mm Girsan pistol with four matching 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The suspected firearm was escorted to the Criminal Investigation Department, where it was lodged pending investigation.
Investigations are ongoing.
