Police in Regional Division #8 (Potaro-Siparuni) are investigating the discovery of approximately 100 grammes of cannabis which was found on Friday, April 10, 2026, between 09:00hrs and 10:50hrs during an operation conducted at Mahdia.

During the exercise, ranks conducted searches in and around the Mahdia Arcade, during which a bulky black plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found in an abandoned area under old wood and plastic.
The suspected cannabis was taken to the Mahdia Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to a total of 100 grams before being lodged.
No arrest was made. Investigations are ongoing.
